About Nanit

Nanit is a baby monitoring technology company founded in 2016 by Tor Ivry, Andrew Berman, and Dr. Assaf Glazer. The company specializes in smart baby monitors, sheets and clothing that allow parents to track their baby’s health and development, including breathing, height, weight, movement, sleep patterns, humidity and temperature of the room, and more. The data is available via a user-friendly app and can be shared with friends and family. The company also provides a digital baby book to save memories. Nanit products have been praised by The Bump, Time Magazine, Babylist, and The Today Show. Monthly payment options are available with Affirm.

Nanit Pros & Cons according to customers

Pros
  • We’ve loved our Nanit – the product and experience are premium all around, and the app experience continues to get better to add key features.
  • Out of the box to installed in the nursery was a quick and painless process, and the app is easy to use and intuitive.
  • The camera quality is good, and we can use our phones when we're outside the house with the other kiddo to keep an ear (and sometimes an eye) on the little one.
  • Comes with a 1 year subscription to the premium app and offers a bunch of different add-on products.
  • Has a mobile mount which is great when travelling.
  • Good camera and audio quality.
  • Helpful features (built in nightlight/sound machine etc).
  • Easy to use and the data dashboard is really helpful in the beginning when you're trying to track/understand your baby's sleep.
  • Can view the app and camera from my phone when babysitting.
  • Super easy to take the travel stand with whenever we're away.
Cons
  • If you keep the app open, even in the background, it does drain your phone battery.
  • Inability to move the camera remotely.
  • After a year, it becomes almost mandatory that you pay the recurring yearly fee to access what were originally sold as core features.
  • Sometimes the audio flickers.
  • Sometimes the Nanit doesn't take video at the right moment.
  • For an expensive monitor, they should include more functionality beyond the subscription product.
